Here we go! Check out Devin's husband conducting a crowd-wide quiz! It was filled with jokes and gave a hilarious spin on her birthday!

The crowd had to answer things like:  which phrase was NOT a part of Devin's thesis paper?

The birthday girl had no idea there was a giant production going on in her name right next door! In fact, the stage was behind the red curtain in the picture you see above! She had no idea what was in store. It was all hunky dory until....

Scot announced one more big surprise for her. He couldn't get her David Bowie, so he got the next best thing!

David Bowie's impersonator!!

David Bowie's impersonator belted out 12 different tunes to a very rockin crowd. He was singing his butt off!

The shock and surprise of it all sinks in.

He was really talented!

They sang a tune together.

I love to shoot parties, bring it on!

They encored until he made a reappearance.

He finished off the night with more great songs. I LOVE this guy! Thanks Sean, Leslie, Jon, Scot, and even Mitch! You guys were fun to kick it with.

What better way to meet your third decade on planet earth than an ultra swanky birthday bash! Landscape extraordinaire Scot Eckley  surprised his beautiful wife with a marvelous birthday fete at the Georgetown Ballroom in Seattle.  HB Radke and the Jet City Swingers set the party in motion for hours on end. Their tubas and accordians kept the dancefloor flooded. Seattle Parties closed down the bar with a huge danceoff and coordinated a few surprises in between with the help from Jon, the lighting guru from Radiohead. Check back for part 2! You'll never guess which celebrity impersonator made an appearance. Here's a little  hint.

Everyone got a kick out of Scot's spelling mixup. It could happen to anyone. It was so funny, he decided to leave it.

30 never looked so good!

She passed out vanilla flavored cupcakes and cigars.

She had NO idea that almost 20 people to include the entire staff at Georgetown Ballroom, Seattle Parties and myself were keepings a huge secret! A very handsome rockstar was tucked behind the curtains waiting rock the house. Check back to see the unveiling!

From an email by the Marketing Communications Manager, Amber Yoo:   On Monday, the Oprah Winfrey Show called to say Seattle Humane Society is one of 15 shelters across the nation chosen to have a photo of one of our orphaned shelter guests featured on their show. The show will target the special bond between rescued animals and humans. The chosen photo will appear on the screen behind Oprah at the end of the show. She will urge viewers to go to www.oprah.com to learn how to adopt Butler and the other 14 animals. The Oprah team said they chose us because of the high presences on our website via the internet. This shows the importance of keeping our website content fresh and updated!

Fresh out of the tub, Lola gets detangled. Its important to put the best paw forward for national tv.

Seen here on the left is Alisa Natal, a Graphic Designer for the SHS.  She coordinated the Humane Society's photography setup.

Volunteers help prep the pets for their moment in the limelight.

I had a great time photography their pets for Oprah! Luna has a soft spot. She's a lover and a snuggler.

Maggie is a boxer-pit mix who licks, a lot.

This is Lola, a very sweet pooch.

Still damp from her bath.

Oprah's team chose this 4 week old kitten named Butler to feature. Despite his size, he's not easily intimidated.

An animal staredown.

Butler, the 4 week old kitty that needs a home.

Volunteer your time. Help these animals find a forever home!

Photographers get out there and volunteer your time! Its rewarding! You might wind up on Oprah.

Carly & Mark's gorgeous cloth-covered wedding album arrived. Its ultra cute! In a 66 page 5x7 size. I love seeing it all come together for the finishing touch. Seen here in taupe with Hawaiian inscription, it was completely customized for the bride and groom. Let's get yours done too. Don't wait for the thrill to be over. Sooner is better! The longer you wait, the less motivated this project becomes.

Venue:  Kiana Lodge
Photography:  April Greer & Matt Grossman
Album Design here. Thanks to Ben Becker for tips on clean album design!
Album Co: Leather Craftsmen heavyweight board, Taupe, 5x7 size, squared tips.

After weeks of browsing the local shelters, growing lonelier by the day, we happened upon stall # 52. This skinny boxer stole our hearts. I knew he was coming home with us. His face is so sweet, it was our undoing! We are utterly smitten with Bruiser.

He seems happier by the day.Initially, he could not be left alone for days on end. He was frightened at our departures and terrified of cages. I don't know what life his owners led previously, but he has come full circle in 1 months time.  Just 2 days ago he laid on his back for the first time, legs up in the air and flopped around. Bruiser gained 4 lbs. within 2 weeks and has a very healthy appetite. He likes salad. His behavior assessment stated:  very motivated by food!  He is the Kate Moss of boxers right now, but have no fear, Ray is determined to feed Bruiser back to good health.  Our plans for him include obedience school, lots of snuggling, and super long walks in the forest. We are thrilled to have him in our home!

I'm slacking terribly on blog posts, I vow to to clean up my act this week. In celebration of our fabulous 75 degree weather, check out this gentlemen! Meet Awan, a  talented musician, actor, and loving father.  Primarily, he's a personal trainer at Allstars Fitness downtown Seattle. Can't imagine where he finds the time to work out with so much on his plate. With spring on the way, don't let yourself go. Its not too late to get shredded for the summer! Awan recommends weight (resistance) trianing and trains 7 days a week himself. No wonder!  Lately Matthew Jordan Smith has my interest for fitness portraits. Check out his hollywood style portraits: smooth, clean, refreshing.
